We are well into the Summer now and the Gravity Summer Season is in full swing now and a great start with the We Love 2000s last week we are only going onwards and upwards.

This next weekend will undoubtably be our biggest one this season. With the release of Now 100 last Friday, we thought it be right to celebrate that milestone in the iconic series with a weekend devoted to all the hits that have featured on the 100 editions of Now. Since the first edition back in November 1983, we at Gravity will be looking back over the 35 years Now has graced the compilation album series and playing the hits that have featured on the 100 editions so far. From the likes of Bon Jovi & Belinda Carlisle in the 80s, to Spice Girls & Wet Wet Wet in the 90s, Lady Gaga & Rihanna in the 00s and not forgetting the stars of the current 2010s decade featuring Calvin Harris & Avicii to name but a couple.

We kick everything off with a 4-hour special show on Wednesday 25th July from 7:00pm and Gravity’s own Phillip Morrall will take you on a journey into what has graced the charts since 1983 and look back at some notable appearances in the Now series and tell you the facts and figures you need to know. The show on Wednesday will also feature 4 songs from the current edition of the series and one of the notable songs that will be played will be the Good Morning Britain competition winners MU4 with their cover of the Phil Collins 1983 top chart hit of “You can’t hurry Love”. The show will also be looking back at all the decades so far including some One Now Wonders and the very first top chart hits to ever feature on Now.

As well as this special show kicking everything off, the Gravity Rewind will be in action this weekend too with some of the stars of Gravity producing their own hour special of Now CD’s that have influenced their lives in more ways than one and even look back at some of the special editions that have been released over the years. But hang on, the best is yet to come. To really celebrate Now’s milestone, this Sunday afternoon from 4:00pm, The Gorgeous 40 will be taking a break this week to make way for a very special chart show that will surely find out which is the greatest Now song of all time. We will be looking at all the Number 1 singles that have featured on the Now series since they started and count down the top 40 Now Number 1s that have graced the charts over the years.

And if that isn’t enough, we have a special competition running all weekend too which is even more exciting. Two lucky Gravity listeners will get a chance to win a copy of the latest Now CD (Now 100) as part of our celebration and all you will need to do, is look out on our Facebook & Twitter pages at the following times: 11:00am, 2:00pm & 5:00pm and you will see a post entitled “Your Now memory #nowthatswhaticallaweekend”. Once you see this, comment under the post with your memory and include the hashtags: “#nowthatswhaticallaweekend & #gravitysummer”. We will then select 2 lucky people at random and they will receive a copy of Now 100 courtesy of Gravity Manchester. The competition will run from 9:00am Saturday July 28th until 11:59pm Sunday July 29th, 2018. Any entries after the deadline will not be included in the selection so make sure you get you posts or tweets in early and you never know, you could be a winner with us a Gravity.
